Dating and striking authority
It is difficult to suggest a more specific date range due to this being a pseudo-autonomous issue, which is to say that the coin was minted within the cities and provinces of the Roman empire without an emperor’s portrait. Only coins struck within the provinces with a portrait of an emperor or empress are categorised as roman provincial. Despite this numismatic distinction, one might take the opinion that this coin is still a roman provincial coin. It was struck in a province under the dominion of the Roman empire, it just lacks a portrait of a ruler.

Demeter in Greek mythology
Demeter was the goddess of corn, grain, and the harvest. She was the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. It was believed that Demeter made the crops grow each year; thus the first loaf of bread made from the annual harvest was offered to her. She was the goddess of the earth, of agriculture, and of fertility in general.
